Spicy Tots
As the great upheavals continue, on a global, national, and personal level, I find myself seeking comfort in food. Quick and easy, tasty, spicy, crisp seem to be the requirements.
So to the quick, easy and crisp portion I’ll turn to my air fryer and some frozen (SHOCK), tater tots, (one could also use fries, or rings or insert veggie snake of choice). For the tasty and spicy, I’ll turn to my heritage of cultural misappropriation for a semi asian sauce to toss those tots in, almost like a buffalo wing, but more tasty.
Just to truly cause everyone from Buffalo to Chinatown agita, I’ll serve these with a blue cheese and hot sauce, dipper.
From Wikipedia:
Tater tots are a food made from grated and deep-fried potato, often served as a side dish. They are recognized by their compact cylindrical shape and crispy exterior. The name “tater tot” is a registered trademark of the American frozen food company Ore-Ida—which has been a subsidiary of Heinz since 1965—but has become so widely associated with the food that it is often used as a generic term. “Tater” is short for potato.
