Basic Ginger Tea
A herbal tea, with a long history in asian herbal medicine. Hot, soothing, and delicious

- 16 fl oz Water
- 1 piece ginger 2-3" peeled / sliced thin
- Honey to taste
- 1 tbsp Lemon zest
- 1 shot Bourbon Good, but not great stuff here.
add water, ginger, zest to small saucepan
Bring to a boil, and reduce to a simmer
Simmer 5-10 minutes, depending on taste
Strain into cups
Add honey / bourbon to taste
Optionals
- A stick of cinnamon
- Sprigs of mint
add these to the simmer, and strain
Add to cups and strain tea into them
Once can also brew classic tea and add ginger slices to the pot.
